Description:
Our « Cercle Francophone de Papotage » is our own version of conversation group sessions. It’s a francophone bubble if you will, where speaking practice is the priority.
These are quite casual & easy-going sessions where you get to learn and have fun at the same time. If you want to maximise your Spoken French and brush up your conversational skills on a regular basis, these sessions are for you.
Level:
From upper beginner to intermediate and more fluent speakers, you can join this group if you’re at a level where you can interact with others. Even though this is not a “formal” class, the teacher will be there to support and teach some useful expressions and words to get the conversation going.
Structure:
On each session, you can:
- chat about a specific theme
- learn many new expressions
- learn to voice your opinions and thoughts
- improve your speaking fluency
- refine your listening skills
- get feedback from the teacher
What we mean by francophone?
Why francophone and not French? It’s important for us to make the distinction. We prefer francophone because it means French-speaking, regardless of where people are from or where they were born – different to French which is France-centred. All francophones are part of a global community that bonds through language and culture. This is a much more inclusive vision of the French language, open to global and regional varieties – not only European but importantly the French spoken in Africa and the Americas. And the best part, this also includes the learners! So if you are learning French you are very much a francophone in the making!
